Review Column: Neue Zeitschrift für Systematische Theologie und Religionsphilosophie

For the second year in a row I will be co-authoring a review column in Neue Zeitschrift für Systematische Theologie und Religionsphilosophie on British and American theology with Dr. Paul Metzger. This is always a wonderful exercise in theological collaboration and a great incentive to really engage recent works in theology. This year we will be reviewing the following books:

The Priority of Christ, Robert Barron
Communion and Otherness, John Zizioulas
Rethinking Christ and Culture, Craig Carter

We will also be including Kevin Hector’s article from ISJT, “Actualism and Incarnation: The High Christology of Friedrich Schleiermacher“, and perhaps another article that has yet to be selected.

What books or articles might you recommend from 2006-07 that you think really deserve treatment?

An old recording of Barth speaking. 15 minute mp3. Figured you might like to hear it.

    Halden (if I may),

A friend of mine told me about your plans to review my IJST article, and I thought I’d drop by your blog to say thanks–assuming, that is, that the tenor of your review matches that of your other work.

    Kevin,

Thanks for your comment. I look forward to reviewing the article. The “theme” tying our various publications under review this year is Christology, so I think yours will fit quite nicely. I do hope to see some some of your work in book form sometime soon as I’ve heard nothing but good things from those who’ve interfaced with you.

    Thanks again!
