I kinda feel bad for him, he really does look a little scary in most pictures of him.
Unrelated: I was in the car once with a group of people, someone mentioned being Catholic, someone else mentioned that I am Catholic, and out of nowhere some girl snarled, “Ugh, the Pope looks like he eats babies.”
Silence.
Someone asked me, “Hm, what do you have to say about that?” I shrugged, “Some people have dark thoughts.”
The girl snapped back, angry, “THE POPE HAS DARK THOUGHTS!”
Have you seen the recent offer of Franco Zefirelli? He has said he would accept the position of papal aesthetic consultant full-time if it were offered to him, and that he is willing to devote the rest of his life to the service of the Church in this way. I agree that for those unfamiliar with BXVI, he can look a little scary. If you know his thought well, that tends to fade away, in my opinion. I have a healthy affection for the man.
I think that my favorite part is how Keira Knightly, Orlando Bloom, and Geoffrey Rush are still part of the cast alongside the heart-throb pictured in the ad. Oh, and the Vienna Boys Choir. ;) Fun, fun, fun…
