Having just finished a thesis, I myself have had many thoughts on editing – most of them of the “!@#$” variety. Should that have been an n-dash or an m-dash?
High on my list are the inclusion of punctuation within quotations when the quotation contains no such punctuation, the insistence that there ought to be hard and fast “rules” about comma usage, and the emphasis on standards-compliance over functionality.
