Ready, steady, go:
- Mmmm…sentimentalist ideology…
- And protestants are scared of theosis. But why?
- Fellow critics of capitalism: Don’t be over-eager to re-enchant the world.
- Consider dumping the dis/re-enchantment narrative altogether perhaps?
- Are you into being authentic? Well, that’s not bad, but its also not really all that great.
- Getting theology PhDs in Norway is apparently mad crazy lucrative. At least while you’re a student.
- And here are some ways to prematurely write off John Howard Yoder. So now no one needs to do any of that in the comments over here, mmmkay?
Or you could just make cookies. With bacon.
Since I’m working on a book about capitalism as a form of enchantment, I think ditching the whole dis/re-enchantment narrative is absolutely the right thing to do. The world never was “disenchanted.” Capitlalism is a repressed and displaced form of enchantment: commodity fetishism in particular.
Yummy. While I think about the rest I just might have to make me some of them cookies. It looks like she may have taken inspiration from a rather famous donut made in a peculiar Northern California city not too far from said Nor Cal college town. Check out their maple-glazed bacon apple donut: http://www.dynamodonut.com/our_donuts.html
I’ve had dreams about waking up to one of these and a piping-hot cup of coffee. Being far from SF right now, this looks like a worthy homemade substitute:)
Well, I moved your comment to the right place, but you got stuck with my avatar.
Haha. Thanks. Have you tried the cookies yet?
